Things are starting to get a lot better at nighttime for Angel. She’s staying dry more nights than not. As a second reward, Angel got her bed back. We had taken her bed off the frame when she repeatedly shoved her mattress off the side of the bed and used it as a slide. Angel was excited to get her mattresses off the floor.
Since Angel’s old bedframe was old and beat up, Daddy put together a new one for her. Angel was so excited. She got a new set of sheets for her bed too.
To be honest, I’m not sure if it was the rewards, the melatonin or the Singulair that made a difference. Maybe it was the combination of all three. Angel’s done with the Singulair for now, and we have another week of melatonin before she needs to take a break.
The biggest difference is that she’s sleeping through the night more often than not. There have been a couple nights when she’s gotten out of bed and crawled in to bed with me, but at least she hasn’t been wet when she’s done so. When I ask her what’s wrong, if I get an answer, it’s usually that she was lonely. We’re working on that.
I think Angel is getting more confident too because when she was riding her scooter this evening, in the middle of our court, she hollered, “Mommy, I’m not going to pee my bed tonight.” That’s great honey, I’m sure all the neighbours were happy to hear that too.
The best part is that since Angel is sleeping better, Mom and Dad are sleeping better too. I feel like we’re getting some of our quality of life back and that’s a good thing.
